AT&T Reverses Course On iPhone Sales Limit

After only one day with a limit of one iPhone per customer, AT & T, the exclusive seller of Apple iPhone outside the United States, on Thursday, the restriction is over.

The telephone company said it returned to its old policy of three per customer after they found he had enough iPhones to resume normal sales. AT & T issued the stricter limit Wednesday.

“Our No. 1 concern is to ensure that every customer who wants an iPhone receives one,” AT & T said the spokesman. “We believe that yesterday the fair way to do this is to limit customers to an iPhone. France’s Orange signs new iPhone deal with Apple

French wireless operator Orange said Friday it has signed an agreement with Apple Inc. to sell its iPhone in the Middle East, Africa and several European countries. Orange France Telecom said in a statement that the sentence will sell the equipment in Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and African markets later this year. France Telecom spokesman said Bertrand Deronchaine Orange will be the exclusive supplier iPhone in Belgium and Romania, with co-exclusive or non-exclusive deals in other countries. Nokia 6500 Slide Preview

It was on a provincial tour over the weekend and one of the guys on board was toting the 6500 slide phone. According to him, this was the end of May 2008. Some sites have marked this particular model as an Nseries telephoning to the N6500 - but it is not like using the new Series 40 platform. The 6500 slide comes with a 3.2MP camera (the site of Nokia claims a 2MP camera but he has 3.2MP - I honestly have to confirm this) and a new user interface. As can be seen in the pictures, the menu screen is located at the bottom of the LCD. They also changed some parts of the menu SMS like the screen, but for the most part - is really aesthetic. LG KF700 ImpressionsWith three input methods, the KF700 seems to be channeling the Sony Ericsson P series except that this particular model looks more like a cellphone than a smartphone. The KF700 comes with three input methods that work together to provide the overall user experience: slide down keypad, touch screen and the “jog dial” of SE folklore which LG calls the “Shortcut dial.”

The UI is a paradigm breaker in the small sense that some actions cannot be completed with a simple push of the button. The shortcut dial for instance can be used to highlight menu items but cannot be pushed down, by instinct, to make a selection. You would have to press down a different button or use the touch screen to input a command. There is also no on screen keyboard unlike the SE smartphones so the keypad is still pretty important.
