NEW YORK - Ever since I discovered I could check AOL e-mail accounts using a regular Internet browser, I’ve found little use for the company’s all-in-one software package. Mozilla Corp.’s Firefox works fine for general Web surfing; AOL’s standalone instant-messaging software takes care of chat sessions.
